Liaison College
We have been working with Liaison College for a number of years now, on a variety of projects from web design to search engine optimization, brochures, YouTube videos, and interactive forms.
Originally we were asked to create a style guide for use across the campuses. Shortly afterwords, we were asked if we could help them get the head office website ranked higher in the search engines. Within 3 months they were consistently on the front page of Google’s organic results and usually in one of the top 2 or 3 places. We kept the site there for the next 3 years of our contract.
Meanwhile we began re-making and updating their forms, turning them into interactive pdfs. Our next task was to slowly redesign the website to add content and improve readability without sacrificing search engine ranking.
We also created a website template for the campuses to use, based on the head office website. This template was used by 4 of the campuses.
Other work for Liaison College includes
- large format 6 panel brochure
- small format 6 panel brochure
- newspaper ads
- advertising fliers
- templates for chef bios and menus
Since 2010 we have been responsible for designing and updating the staff website.
Twin City Harmonizers
The Twin City Harmonizers website went online in 2009.
We are pleased to have been sponsors of the 2009 Spring Performance, May 14th and 15th.
We now maintain the site on a regular basis, to keep the content fresh with new photos, video and events listings.
Dr. Jellie

- Logo for Dr. Jellie
When Dr Jellie approached us for a website he was aware that most of his business came from referrals, but he believed that down the road, doctors in Canada might need to market their services. Meanwhile, the website could act as a way to support his patients by providing information about their surgical options.
Dr. Jellie was looking to brand his practice to the extent of creating a logo that would be used across the website, in presentations and on his business card.
We spent time together, met his wife and got to know him. On the basis of our discussions we drafted a couple of ideas for a logo. His feedback helped us hone the concept.
In this case especially, the logo evoked the branding which became the basis of the colour scheme and design for the website. Dr. Jellie was able to provide both textual content and illustrations which made the site a breeze to build.
We have subsequently made some minor updates to the site which he otherwise maintains, plus we created powerpoint slides for use in presentations.
Cambridge Santa Claus Parade
In 2007 we were asked to create a new website for the Cambridge Santa Clause Parade. Since then we have proudly continued to update and maintain the site, making minor changes to the design each year.
- In 2009 we added video and a small photo gallery using javascript.
- In 2010 we added an extensive photo gallery using jquery.
The Cambridge Santa Claus Parade concept was developed through a competition among our designers and ended with elements from each person’s work being pulled into one web design. This was then built in-house and posted to Santa’s servers.
The screenshot shown here links to the website.
Toronto CCAC
TOCCAC Intranet cleanup. TOCCCAC had the largest intranet of any CCAC, accessed by 1000s of healthcare providers in the Greater Toronto Area on a daily basis. Produced and maintained internally without benefit of a content management system, their intranet had many problems that made it impossible to fold into the province wide SIMS extranet under construction at the time.
TOCCAC needed to clean up the site and maintain it for six months before the new implementation, without disrupting its use by healthcare workers.
The site contained dead links, out-of-date and redundant content and had lost coherence. Poor coding and links to documents on network drives made the TOCCAC intranet immovable. In only 4 months, C.R. Visuals instituted a set of policies regarding intranet content and cleaned up the content and code on the CCAC website so that it could be moved into SIMS.
- “Thanks so much for all your help. You came through when we really needed you.”
Anne Wojtak. Director, Quality and Strategic Initiatives. Toronto Community Care Access Centre
What did it take?
- Inventory the site and for each section determine who maintained the content, where the content was located, and whether it was up-to-date, in use, and appropriate.
- Audit the site for coding issues, inappropriate graphic formats, broken links, and links pointing to network drives.
- Update critical information and re-build the navigation.
- Remove dead links, out-of-date and redundant pages.
- Bring networked documents into the web server environment, converting file formats as necessary.
- Simplify the page design and added new navigation.
- Create a style guide and policies for the use of the intranet.
- Prepare the site for transfer to SIMS.
Janssen-Ortho
Janssen-Ortho’s intranet, built by Human Resources, lacked room to grow. We were hired to rebuild the site with a more corporate look and to ensure that each department was represented online. Each department was allowed a degree of visual distinctiveness, without breaking the overall pattern and feel.
- “I toured the site and I like it a lot. Thanks. And thanks to Caroline for making it happen. ”
Greg Anderson. Vice-President, Human Resources. Janssen-Ortho Inc., Toronto, Canada - “Thanks for helping me put information up on the monitors and website. Your help in organizing is greatly appreciated.”

- MBN Logo
The MBN was a short-lived by optimistic business network that met at the Kitchener Market in 2006.
We were active members and enjoyed the company of a dozen small-business owners over the course of a year that had as its highlights, guest speakers and a tradeshow.
As a group we understood the need to market ourselves and for that purpose C.R. Visuals devised a logo and cards, a brochure and flier, and a website.
The network folded as the Market itself faced new obstacles and opportunities, but the pleasures of participating in a weekly business group and even more, the challenge of organizing a tradeshow were not to be missed.

- MBN Brochures and Fliers
3donthe.net. We modeled medical equipment showing the precise textures and sizes of the instruments for use in an online catalogue.
The Visual Past tests the value of 3D animations for detailing history online. 3 sites in early Ontario history were re-created using Adobe Atmosphere: Ste. Marie among the Hurons, Schneider Haus and Toronto.
Sick Kids asked us to model an operation to train surgeons around the world on the precise use of a new piece of technology.
Pinkovsky-Lockyer asked us to reconstruct a murder and create a video to to present at trial. To avoid prejudicing the jury, the judge demanded we use puppets and unrealistic lighting and textures and in the end, only permitted stills to be presented in court.
Colgate Mennen Lady Speedstick. The Lady Speedstick was still in production when Colgate began training its sales force to recognize the packaging. We created the product in 3D using a simple turntable animation to help the reps conceptualize what they were selling.
Dynacadd needed 3D models to spice up their new packaging. We rendered the models combining wireframe and photo-realistic textures for the box and manuals using their software, which we learned on the job.
Dominion Telephones asked us for a number of models to be used in marketing newsletters, online and in brochures.
Quadro
Our first project for Quadro was post work on an MPEG1 file that needed enhancing, plus be given new titles, an opening sequence and menus, before being output to HDTV PAL and NTSC DVDs.
Quadro asked us to model the F10 when it was still under development, so that they could begin training their salesforce. In this version we hid the internal motors and highlighted the sieves and grinding mechanism.
9 particle systems were needed to show how food passed through the suite, being double ground to a fine powder. The final 1:30 minute animation was originally output to AVI for Powerpoint, then altered so that it could be inserted in the tradeshow demo reel and output to HDTV DVD.
It was important to match the timing, lighting and textures to provide continuity between the two sets of animations.
Stretch Your Life
We designed a workbook for Stretch Your Life including photos and layouts.
Artisan Cheese Marketing
We designed brochures and fliers for this caseophile company .
Ministry of Health
We designed a series of posters for the Ministry to illustrate the changeover to a new digital system.
