Checkpoints to Results
Even small projects can go off the rails if they are not managed from the beginning. However, a full-fledged project management process could really bog down a job when the goal is a quick turnaround. For this reason we introduced the "Checkpoints for Turnaround" process.
It begins with a visit where we get information from you about your needs and expectations. Your ongoing involvement ensures we contuinue to share a vision. You don't sign off at any stage unless you are comfortable with what you see.
Checkpoints for Turnaround Projects
- By phone, email or in person, tell us what you want done, detailing any colours, fonts, logos, or other visuals that must be included in the design.
- We write up a letter of agreement that provides our understanding of the project, including budget, timelines and a 30-second sketch or wireframe that defines the placement of the main components.
- You sign the letter of agreement and initial the sketch then return both with the first payment. By signing, you agree to act as the sole client stakeholder responsible for approving each step of the project. You must also provide any pre-agreed elements such as logos or layouts to be followed.
- C.R. Visuals begins work on the draft design.
- C.R. Visuals submits the draft design to you, the stakeholder. You will have 5 days to review the design and append the required changes, in writing.
- C.R. Visuals makes the required changes and re-submits the design. At this stage you may decide to continue the project or sign-off. If you need further changes, they are priced out on a fee-for service basis until we are agreed on the design and you sign off.
- You are now responsible for providing any content required to continue development. For example, you may need to provide written text for brochures or web sites.
- C.R. Visuals begins work on the final draft as follows
- Illustration: we add the final touches to the design
- Web design: the website is reproduced in HTML populated with the content provided by the client
- 3D: we finish the model and produce a final draft render
- Layouts for ads, brochures, or magazines: we put final touches in place and add content.
- The final draft is presented to you for remarks. At this stage, comments should be limited to the previous stage of work only.
- On sign-off, C.R. Visuals will output the project to the specified format which may include posting a website to an ISP, writing files to DVD, or preparing the file for print
