Portals

Visual Past

The Visual Past is a web portal that uses a content management system, interactive 3D components, and javascript to create a more immersive online learning environment. The topic is Canadian history. The site is currently under construction.

The site is open access with 2 levels of membership. Subscribers will be able to comment on articles but their comments will fall to the bottom of the page. Members will be able to comment on the articles and their comments will receive higher placement and ratings. This makes it an ideal place for historians and history buffs to post articles on their specialties and get feedback from other experts.

The Food Portal

If you like to cook, or even if you simply love to eat, you, like me, may possess hundreds of recipes and cooking tips. This may be combined with an interest in the foods we eat and in healthy eating and diet. If you also have limited shelf space and access to a computer, you may wish to place your recipes in a database that can be accessed anytime, from anywhere.

The desire to shelve and share our recipes was the raison d’etre for this food portal. It’s one of many, it’s true. The internet swarms with recipe, health and wellness sites, but this one works for us in its simplicity.

The food portal can be found at feedyourpassion.ca
